I’m trying to modify the code for gblink so that it can read from my usb to parallel port cable. I know that the address for a normal parallel port (/dev/lp0) is 0x3bc, but how can I find out the address for /dev/usb/lp0?

Hello, I had some problems getting my parallel port printer working again after the latest update. I noticed that the command “hp-check -r” said: pp-build=no After a quick google search I found that this option is not enabled by default anymore, to use it you have to enable it at compile time… doh http://hplipopensource.com/node/217 So I recompiled hplip with “–enable-pp-build” and all is good again.

I’m running my Dell Dimension 4100 with ubuntu 8.04. The printer is a Canon BJC-1000 and was running fine. It has now stopped printing but shows printing in process all the time in the dialog box
